The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reported a significant revenue of N11.5 billion generated from the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms, along with levies and dues from aspirants and officeholders between February and March 2023.

Out of this total, N7.9 billion was allocated to support state congresses, the national convention, and various campaign activities for the 2023 general elections.

The party’s audited financial statement, submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as mandated by the Electoral Act, provides a detailed breakdown.

According to Vanguard, it shows that income from the sale of forms for the Presidential, Senatorial, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly positions comprised the majority of revenue.

On the expenditure side, N3.1 billion was dedicated to state congresses and the national convention, while N1.7 billion was disbursed to states and candidates involved in the elections.

Additional expenses included N72.07 million for allowances to party agents, N233.4 million for training, workshops, and lectures, and N166.5 million for personnel expenses. The hiring of buses for campaign logistics cost N27.7 million.

Prepared by the PDP’s Director of Finance, Ismaila Yunusa Alkali, and signed by Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, the report details the party’s income and expenditure for the period.
